I have been able to make a new friend through my son’s soccer team and he really needs our prayers. His name is Mark and over a year ago he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He has had surgery, chemo, and radiation over the last year and has been very strong. In the last 2 days he has discovered that the tumor has doubled in size and he will need to go into surgery immediately. You can check out Mark’s blog by clicking here.
I would ask that you commit to praying for Mark and his family throughout the day, maybe even once an hour while you are awake. As you pray, remember his family (wife and 2 kids); for his surgery on Wednesday; for complete healing and a smooth recovery; for minimal to no impact on his motor skills.
As you pray, remember these important truths about God found in Colossians 1:15-23:
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.” ESV
In times of trouble and trial may we reflect and remember the love of God through Jesus. Thank you, church, for praying for Mark; I know our prayers will make a difference.

Just to update: The surgery has been pushed back to October 15th. Mark writes:
“Just wanted to give all of you a quick update based on our appointment with the Neurosurgical team late Friday. The gist of it is my surgery has been moved to the 15th. There is a vaccine that is pretty cutting edge in treating my type of tumor and we are going to try and locate a brain tumor center where we can line this up – we are willing to give this one more week to accomplish the objective . Not sure about the time.”
Please continue to pray.
