On behalf of the Damron family and Arcade Church I want to thank all of you who have shown the love of Christ to the family during the tragic loss of Lexi. There is a fund established to help the family with the costs associated with this difficult situation. If you’d like to help, please call the church office for the information to make a donation.
IÂ did want to let you know that a celebration of Lexi’s life will be Monday, February 16th at 11:00am at Arcade Church. There will be a reception afterwards and childcare will be available during the service.
I have had a number of people ask “why?”, “why would God take such a young vibrant girl?”. I don’t have an answer for people. The truth is I don’t know why God decide her and now. I personally have had to remind myself of two passages of scripture. Job 40:1-5 reminds me that I am small and that God is bigger, bigger than I can fully understand. Second, Isaiah 55:8-9 tells me that God’s ways are higher than my ways and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. Someday might we see God’s hand at work throughout this terrible tragedy, someday His plan might be revealed, maybe.
I do know at times like this, whether the death of a child or any other tragedy that we face in life that we find ourselves at a “fork in the road”. Our choices - walk down the path of rest, comfort and love found in Jesus Christ or down the path of the bitterness found in a cold and cruel world. I also know for the Damron family that the grieving process takes times.
Church, again, thank you for your love you have poured out to the Damrons, the Flanagans and others who have lost loved ones over this last week. Let’s keep our trust in the Sovereign God, who has a plan for each of His children, a plan for hope and eternity and not calamity and disaster (Jeremiah 29:11). Let’s praise Him that we can mourn as grieve unlike those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted - Matthew 5:4

Dear Jeremy, What an awesome sermon during a difficult time in Arcade’s family life. But, it is in those times that a Church family brings love that means so much at that time of grieving. I am looking forward to seeing you and all the Saints there son. Love and prayers, Mom
I am deeply saddened by this tragic turn of events. I am having such a hard time with this. I have 2 children the same ages as Jennie and Jason. My husband and I have been so deeply affected by what has happened to this beautiful family. I will keep asking myself why? And the question will never get answered. Our family loved Lexy deeply; in fact, Jennie and I called our kids boyfriend and girlfriend. We sent valentines every year. My that beautiful little girl rest in peace. May God bless you Lex. You will be missed.
The alternative to God’s grace and love in this tragedy is hopelessness. Either God is a very real help in time of need, and He is our great comforter, or there is only despair and arbitrary, purposely tragedy. Jesus said that tragedy happens that God may be glorified. God has been and will continue to be glorified here, despite the pain and the hurt and the crushing burden of this loss.
Praise God for a church and faithful people who love the hurting and minister grace in truth.
