At Arcade, we are mobilizing disciple-makers to bring Christ-like joy to our neighborhoods, our region, and our world. To be a disciple-maker, one must first be a disciple. Someone who has chosen to follow Jesus and knows Him, someone who has experienced Christ-like joy in their own life. To that end, we are excited to present Learning Jesus Workshops.
These classes are designed for followers of Jesus to learn more about who He is. Each workshop will teach some facet of who God is, or how we follow Him in community - to equip, challenge, and support Arcadians in their walk with Christ. They will be classes that not only teach us more about Jesus, but give us practical ways to apply what we are learning to our own lives and the lives of the people in our neighborhoods, region, and world.
Classes will happen two times a year and will generally consist of 6-8 hours of interactive class time and end with a meal shared between all class participants. We will cover a wide variety of topics in our classes from theology, to ministry, to missions, and Christian living. Come and learn with us, alongside other believers, and be even more prepared to spread Christ-like joy to the world around you!
This August, we are offering the following two workshops. To register, please fill out the form below, once for each person attending. We can’t wait to Learn Jesus together!
Family Discipleship l Nick Morlet
August 20 l 6:30-8:30pm ; August 21 l 8:30am-1pm
The Gym
As parents, we are the first line of discipleship for our children - the people in their lives who have the most time and, therefore, the most opportunity to help our children understand who Jesus is!
Come learn how to make the most of this opportunity. This class will equip you to do exactly what you have been called to do with your family. It will teach you ways to disciple your children and give you the opportunity to sit across other parents and learn from them as well. Even if you are not a parent, this class is basically a culmination of everything Pastor Nick knows about discipleship and will be helpful to anyone thinking about discipling students.
Journey to the Center of the Bible l Craig Hardinger
August 20 l 6:30-8:30pm ; August 21 l 8:30am-1pm
The 500 Building (Fellowship Hall)
What comes to your mind when you hear the word, “Bible”? Some would say, “joy”. Or, “God’s sufficient revelation”. Or, “God’s inspired word.” Or, “crucial for understanding God’s purpose.” All descriptions are most definitely true. Sadly, others might say, “The unsolvable Rubik’s Cube of literature”. Or, “boredom”. Or, “unmet expectations.” Or, “a lock that only a few know the combination to.” As sincere Christians we have an extremely high view of the Bible which is wonderful, but couple that high view of scripture with a low view of our ability to understand it and all we get is book that we hold at arm’s length. For this reason, we are holding a workshop entitled, “Journey to the Center of the Bible.”
In this workshop you will...
...learn the central theme of the Bible from beginning to end.
...see the Bible as something more than a ‘look-it-up-and-find-the-answer guide’ to life.
...develop a personal confidence and curiosity to pursue further biblical study
...begin to see the need and acquire the skill to pass on bible knowledge to others.
