The Goicovici’s

Deo Gloria Church was planted by Emy (Emanuel) and Fabi (Fabiola) Goicovici in 2007, with the specific purpose of reaching unreached/unchurched people to an encounter with Jesus Christ, to a life of discipleship and Christian maturity. It is their understanding that opportunity plays a very important part in reaching out to unbelievers and they do this by offering classes for people who do not know Jesus to be exposed to God’s transforming love in ministries for children, teenagers, college students, young adults and families.

The Goicovicis (Emy, Fabi, Samuel & David) live in Hunedoara, a town in the heart of Transylvania, the home of the beautiful Corvinian Castle. When the steel mills closed, tens of thousands migrated towards the western world, leaving their families behind, children being raised by relatives or neighbors. 3.4 million Romanians have left the country in the last 10 years; second highest negative emigration rate after Syria. In her role as an English teacher in the public high school, Fabiola notices the consequences of this situation in her student’s behavior.

They prioritize reaching children between the ages of 4 - 14 (the 4 - 14 window) through the Awana Club, Kids Camps, Sunday School Classes, VBS and other activities. Working with the Awana Club since 2002, Fabiola works passionately, reaching children and disciplining leaders, leaving a lasting impact in her role as the local director of the Awana Club and regional coordinator, planting and assisting local clubs in the country. Emy joined the Romanian Awana Board earlier this year.

In his role as Romanian Champion for History Makers Europe and the International Leadership Institute, Emy leads a conference for future Christian leaders 18 to 40 years old. This program meets the need for training future young leaders for local churches.
